'You could barely pass last time', to make the grammar of this sentence correct (other possibility, 'You barely passed last time' (why don't people use the free version of Grammarly?)

One of the men sitting in the front walked up to him. He was a tall kid standing at six feet with a muscular built. he glared down at him with a fierce look. "I bet you cheated. You can barely pas last time and now you got a perfect score? Who will believe that?"

    or raked

"oh is it good." He raped his fingers through his hair. He had cut it shorter in the front so that it did not hide his elegant eyebrows. His family did not have cash to get a proper hair cut so he did it himself for the first time.

From her profile it looks like the author is from the Philippenes, maybe it's possible that they call toes fingers over there? Complex country when it comes to language, Filipino and English are the official languages and only a third speaks Filipino as a native language? And they don't all speak English either. I don't think English is the authors first language either. Or grammar rules are different in the Philippenes.

It could only be barely seen because of the dark surroundings, but it was obviously in bad condition; it was swollen. Perhaps, some of his fingers as well.

    *like that

Arren was correct. It was complete nonsense. How could the victim be denied the opportunity to see their perpetrators if they so desired? Spade simply didn't want them to meet.

beating someone locked up like could mean he gets free or a lighter sentence and you'd be charged with assault, we all know that right? would be weird if that wasn't the case in this world

It's a simple passive tense so it's 'it was confirmed'. A similar mistake happened before in another chapter so I thought maybe I should mention. Your grammar is almost always correct.

After the word 'beside', no comma should be placed because in this case, it looks like he's speaking to Florent. And then the word beside wouldn't make sense and it should be aside.

Thank you for the update! I'm curious to read what happens next, I hope those maids are safe. (fyi, 'fifty' is spelled with one 'i')

    *Klaus

At first, I thought that the King framed the guards just like he framed the maids. But if he really believes that they run away with the maids and me with the help of the Anarchists, then he must not know that Klaus was with the guards at the moment he discovered the maids and I were gone.

I'm just thinking, what if the king somehow thinks Alex passed away way earlier? Or doesn't exist. I think it's very suspicious good food stopped coming after Elizabeth's death. Could be because he thought nobody was there anymore. When did Alex's mother pass away again? Was that before or after Elizabeth's death. The king stopped visiting after that. Would he have done that if he knew their kid was still there? What has Claus been telling the king? Could it be that he wanted Alex as his secret pawn?

but the satisfaction of knowing revives it~ 😌 (that's actually the second part of the full proverb, but it's been rather forgotten (similar to 'the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb')

Yeah… That was what I should have done. But I was too curious to hold myself.

Hindsight doesn't actually mean what the author thinks it means (it actually doesn't have much to do with sight, even though the word suggests otherwise) - maybe using the free app grammarly could help avoid mistakes like these as they're quite frequent, which comes with being not a native speaker. The story's still fun though!

He was busy talking to his mother when suddenly in hindsight he saw the kid ruining into the street.
