I think that the MC was working on the process while his physical body seemed frozen in time. Then the chaos devourer system possessed MC (when MC burnt Jason's house and by then it was 50 yrs and MC was physically 1 yr old or something), so that Jason would do what he did to lead MC to where he is now all for another chance of possession and no restart button this time. Such a combination of things... to cripple MC, make him want the system after lab rat situation, and no memories thanks to Jason. Also, thanks to the lure of system, MC has exposed himself to these crazy elites that want him gone. Hopefully when MC controls all the crystals he can mask the existence of chaos devourer they all hate so much.

Right? Wasn't some of the rare science gear and all the things he needed to complete the mission in that ring? He was a lab rat then a lab slave for 45 days and now just gives all of that mission accomplishment away? He was poor in points and a forced teacher student thing and an odd forced pink soul vs Demon soul plot for 10,000 points that seemingly the MC won't ever see if he keeps giving everything away. I understand socialism but this is self-sabotage. I'm hoping that I accidentally missed him picking up a few rings then swapping stuff around. Maybe in a few chapters this will get ironed out?
