I'm afraid I must disagree. The original story probes that. This one proves that Margrave is the objectively funniest author in existence.

This story proves yet again that humans ignore 98% of what we read for spicy sound bites, NTR ruins stories, and Greek mythology is l creepy af.

At least I would definitely be interested. It's a really cool and original concept. Although I fear that my questions would be too much of an inconvenience to answer. Welp, that said, thanks for the chapter!

    Nice Death Note reference.

Kai usually leaves the doorknob tilted by 3 degrees whenever he leaves his room or comes back. However, from a mere look, he could see that the doorknob wasn't as he left it that morning.

Then what about humanoid monsters, like orcs or goblins? Is he also able to communicate with them? And if so, are they also initially friendly?

I lowered my knife and approached the spider, its red eyes still locked on me. I could feel a strange connection between us as if we were communicating without words.

So he's able to communicate and be friendly with all monsters, or only the mutated types?

Nice. Good to see that the MC isn't saving her for moral reasons or 'just for plot', but instead did it for his own benefit and didn't hesitate to capitalize on it.

I raised an eyebrow in surprise but didn't argue. It is always better to have a backup, especially in situations like these.

Probably anyone the user thinks of as an ally, I guess.

    - Creates a barrier that blocks any attack from any direction. The barrier is destroyed after contact but regenerates every 10s. The barrier will stop working if a humanoid ally is nearby.

So, it works as a passive skill, creating an invisible barrier that stops the first attack that hits it? Or is it activated conciously and voluntarily, and is deactivated automatically when an ally comes nearby?

I'll begin by saying that this novel absolutely doesn't deserve the rating it has. It is one of the little novels I'm actually able to give 5 stars to, without any regret. Apart from Margrave being and incredible author and writing numerous awesome books, this novel by itself is already a masterpiece. It only takes second place, behind My Three Wives Are Beautiful Vampires, as my favorite yandere novel, and Caitlyn is in my personal top 5 favorite characters in all fiction. True, this is a comedy, so it isn't the most serious novel, but I've fell off my seat in laughter numerous times while reading it. The only thing I feel would be a problem to the average reader in this novel is Margrave's writing style (which I personally adore). It is extremely complex, littered with references to mythology and history (which are fortunately explained in the author's thoughts section, even I didn't understand some) and is chock-full of 'big words' and descriptive adjectives, so much that it resembles an understandable form of poetry. That may be enormously detrimental to many readers, as most people reading here are not experienced linguists with a master's degree in literature (not that it requires those characteristics, mind me) and would probably get lost in a sea of cultured writing, and would feel frustrated as they understand little. The other issue I had observed was wonderfully covered by Blazing_1NS4N1TY on his review. The last thing I was wondering was if this novel was on hiatus, as I would absolutely love to see it continue, and would be irredeemably sad if it were to be dropped.

The author should delete these stupid reviews, imo. The do absolutely nothing but bring down the overall rating and give people who haven't read it the wrong idea, especially on this platform, in which a novel has to be absolute trash to get less than 3 stars. To the person doing this, please stop. It benefits nobody. If you dislike the story or find too many errors in it, then put the effort to make a constructive criticism on it. Or just don't review it.

What do you mean you're terrible with words? You write better than many authors that I've seen on this very platform. Btw, I completely agree with this review. If the elements enumerated here attract you, you should totally read this.

*Incoming wall of text* This story is a perfect example of how all villainous MC stories should be constructed. It elaborates wonderfully on how most people are not born evil, but end up transforming into it, and the shades of gray a villain may be subjected to, initially rejecting the deepest darkest parts of themselves, but eventually accepting them. I also really enjoyed the first interactions of the MC and the first FL (this is a harem, right?), especially the twisted version of the marriage contract, which was superbly written. The abilities, system and skills were also very entertaining, apparently being inspired by Dungeons & Dragons (unless I'm just a gigantic nerd and I'm reading too much into it), though I would've liked it better if they were revealed slowly over time, and not dumped immediately on the readers to sort it out for themselves. A glossary chapter with a compilation of the skills, etc would also be convenient. The only complaint I have is that the story seems to be a little all over the place at times, with the MC's backstory and his reincarnation's backstory. But, it is a little early to tell, with just 13 chapters to go with. The update stability is also pretty decent, but too soon to tell as well. In summary, good job author! Keep on it! P.S.- Please don't ruin the story with a bad harem, I'm begging you. But the author seems to have a very good grasp of romance (in my opinion) so I'll have faith.

*Incoming wall of text* When I first read this novel, I was very surprised. Pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I didn't expect much from this, but my expectations were blown off the charts. In terms of grammar, I didn't notice any blatant errors, or any inconsistencies (which are the most annoying). Since I'm, unfortunately, accustomed to bad writing by other webnovel authors, I may have missed some, though. In terms of story and background, I was simply blown away, as I expected very little of this story, and instead I found a coherent, character driven, structured story with a clear direction and a prevalent aura of mystery. I especially loved the dark and eldritch theme, and its unusual and highly logical approach to the horror genre. But what I most enjoyed was how the author treated madness. I won't go too into this to not spoil it for anyone, but this (along with ThePotatoKing's novel) is one of the most chilling and in-depth depictions of madness I have ever read in a webnovel. But splitting your attention from those heavy themes is adorable serial killer waifus! We all want those. Lastly, this novel has a villainous MC with actual villainous characteristics. He's not some half-baked ''villain'' who's just misunderstood, or a supposed villain who's just evil because he has no other choice and tries to do 'good' when he can. Oh, absolutely not. This MC *Slight spoiler, continue reading in a few lines* is a bloodthirsty killing maniac who takes pleasure in methodically hunting his victims and giving them drawn-out painful deaths. He is also an actually smart character, unlike other ''smart'' MCs which are just normal people surrounded by retards. *End of spoiler* Well, if you dislike those kinds of MCs then you probably shouldn't read this. Nor if you dislike gore. Taking all those points in consideration, the only reason I can't give this novel 5 stars is because its update stability is downright depressing. I can say with almost absolute certainty that anyone thinks that waiting 1 month or more for 1 measly chapter is simply unreasonable, even if it is a masterpiece. I personally think that the author should give some consideration to the many readers that have a similar opinion to mine, and think about dedicating a bit more time to this fantastic novel. This is just my opinion though, and if the author doesn't have the time or just doesn't want to dedicate more to this novel, then I'll just have to respect it.
