What would you call someone you are afraid of or rather fear to the bones, a successful person?? So I think it makes sense if you think through the teachers perspective which is irrational fear.

I disagree with the comment below since Kishimoto way of writing without the script is what made Naruto, Naruto. It feels more natural even with some plot holes as they can be explained using readers knowledge so this way of writing is basically a conversation with the reader which makes it more immersive, at least for me.
