Really enjoying the tone, Author! As long as Sol keeps his edge when needed, it’s good to be reminded he’s just a kid learning how things work. His innocence has been a great contrast to his trauma, rage, and willingness to do violence; however particularly in the last couple of chapters introducing the idea of finding new community, romance and more adult concepts seems appropriate to the age he’s getting to. It’s also a more balanced approach to character development which feels less forced and more like it’ll transition as the story progresses. Although I have to note that hair doesn’t actually grow that fast (unless it’s a hidden plot point or something to do with his parentage)
Sunny is probably the best example of organic and sustainable character growth in any novel or webnovel I’ve ever read. Knowing that beneficial actions of the past don’t give leeway for apathetic or misanthropic actions in the present is another step for Sunny, who once would have excused any action required to get from one day to the next, let alone improving your own situation in the process.
I don’t even know what to write here to convince you to read this WN. It’s just insane how good it is. The MC does indeed start off quite immature, but since he’s 17 when we first start I feel like that should be a given. He grows and learns and grows from learning though. Stick with it and you’ll find yourself more and more invested, raging harder when you catch up, and effervescently happy when you get a new chapter. Also; no this isn’t a football novel. Thanks Awespec for writing characters whose intelligence makes them strong (and for writing kickass FMCs who also grow with the MC over time)
The actual burst of laughter that came out of my lungs just scared my partner and my cats. Seriously, I’m SINCERELY hoping that there’s no twist and that the three idiots just keep failing miserably. I’m begging you. Please. It’s such a perfect contrast to Leo just winning and being serious.
