This reminds me of a world sect in the victorian ages. You have a story of a young boy who experiences the harsh reality of life (you don't have to outrun a bear, just your friend) and is given a second chance at life. Instead of an angel offering a deal at redemption, it's a devil instead, which means the plot will have its fair share of bumps and twists. It is definitely more similar to a slow-burn traditional novel, like the author mentions. Looking forward to seeing how it fleshes out.

I've read 4 chapters and I'm conflicted. It's excellent writing, but, I'm confused on the heavy emphasis on Lai. It seems like the man at the beginning was the mafia ceo? That doesn't detract any high marks though. I'm just wondering why the the quick intro.

Honestly, this story is a rare gem! Perfect everything! The development leads you to the next major plot point just when you expect to see it. The characters seem well thought out with their own unique personalities. The mystery in the story keeps you reading. I'm adding it to my collection to read more later :D

I read this earlier anonymously to provide feedback. Just adding in the review now. It shifts from buddhism to wuxia concepts, so I'm curious how the two are related. The conversation between disciple and master also feels organic. The disciple was adamant about meeting his master one last time, which was a pretty nice touch. How does it affect his mentality in the future? who knows.

Fantastic story so far. The story development is interesting and understands what makes a compelling story. I thought it the chapter ended on a boring note, but the next chapter added some spice to the mix. It was very interesting to see what happens just around the corner. I'm not a slice-of-life person, but I can still appreciate a solid story.

I'm basing this off of the plot twist that happens. It doesn't fall into the cliche that you often see, although it starts using a good one. The story development is actually good, unexpected, and makes you look forward. The MC's background is developed well enough and I enjoy all the unique mechanics this world has to offer.

My review is based on the hook. If the castle can be described during the attack, that would be a lot more interesting to engage in. Basically, if the scene was reorganized so that the fight happened right away, and then the aftermath is described, that would make this a pretty interested read.

The world building in chapter 1 I mean.

Great writing. The story follows the life of a pig, and I don't know much about a pig, so I'm hoping the author shows us something amazing. The world background at the beginning was good, and as long as the story continues with that, I believe it'll be fantastic.

How does a pig pick something up O.O
