It doesn’t make sense that the Global Army would just throw away their most promising recruit to a haphazard squad with a mere Lieutenant. How does it make sense that he wasn’t sent to an elite force on the planet? Of course most of the forces there would be those punished to serve but there have to be sqauds of elite soldiers no?
So not only does he successfully infiltrate the academy which would no doubt be under surveillance, he also states he always assumes Hiruzen is using his crystal ball yet not two paragraphs later he’s using his sharingan on Iruka? What if Hiruzen was spying, what then eh? So much for always being on the lookout. Jonathan’s plans work based on others’ incompetence not his planning or intelligence. Only by author’s decision to make the other’s incompetent does Jonathan have a chance with his plans.
Jonathan is absolutely a sociopath. I don’t know why he keeps saying he isn’t. Either he is deluding himself or you the author are mistaken. A sociopath doesn’t necessarily enjoy killing. They just have no problems doing so if it means furthering their goals. Jonathan has no remorse for killing anyone, he is the definition of a sociopath. I would even argue psychopath as he has shown no real emotion whatsoever other than his supposed, unexplained, hatred of the Naruto universe.
How does Jonathan even think he’s not talented? He was able to perform justsus first try just based on hand signs. He can control his chakra innately for some reason. He’s literally cheat level talented and stupidly smart for no reason. The character is an enigma both in his personality and his narration. Either he’s intentionally an unreliable narrator or the author is being inconsistent in his writing. He’s playing a trained ROOT ninja like a fiddle. Jonathan is not trained ninja, he’s literally just the average civilian. Why is it believable that he’s outperforming and outsmarting those literally trained to be interrogators and spies. His knowledge of the show does nothing but allow for plans. He himself has no skills that should allow him to do what he is doing.
Sorry what are they monologuing for? If you’ve already determined the MC to be a threat to be eliminated you kill him in the most efficient way. There’s no way the group decided that talking to him and revealing that they were going to kill him was the best option. What, they’d rather have 20 of their men die rather than having one of his close friends poison him before he understood the danger he was in? They could have killed him with zero casualties if they weren’t so moronic to monologue like third rate villains/heroes. This is just amateur man.
