It's weird because the scene right before had him chased by Fairy and the name he yelled out is Lan Zhan. Then JC caught him and scares him suddenly he yelled out Shijie instead of Lan Zhan. Then suddenly JC jealously talked about how close Wwx was with Lan Zhan that he would protect Wwx.

Re-reading this. Noticing more and more spoilers of the scenes ahead and loving the style of this author. I am a fanfic writer and I could never create such masterpiece. I just couldn't let this story go...

I had just watched a video that analysed them and realized many things I didn't realised before. I realized that it's not that Jc doesn't love Wwx but he couldn't put down his own pride. I also didn't realised why Wwx felt like he's an outsider until I saw that video. What I am glad was that Wwx found his home and his home is with Lan Zhan. Also the fact that JC finally understood that he could never give Wwx what Lan Zhan can give and so he had to accept that Wwx's home is no longer in Lotus Pier. JC never wanted to hurt Wwx but due to how people treat him and his own insecurities, he had been constantly hurting Wwx without realizing it.Now he finally let Wwx be free to go, came as how Lan Zhan let Wwx choose his own freedom.

Reading this, I realized he confessed back in the cave when he first sang this song to Wwx didn't he? but Wwx didn't hear it because he fainted(I remember this from the drama, forgot if it happened in the novel too). Basically telling Wwx the song title is confessing. Then when he saved Wwx from Nevernight he confessed again. but Wwx isn't at the right state of mind again and to make matter worse he totally forgot it ever happened after he was revived as Mo Xuanyu. Wah.... no wonder Lz so mad at Wwx all the time but while he's mad at him he also couldn't stay away 🤦♀️

Yeah, basically JC sacrificed himself for Wwx because to him Wwx is his brother but Wwx sacrificed his golden core for JC to repay gratitude, he wanted to keep his promise to JC parents and give them back what was given to him(raising him and teach him cultivation). Not to say that he didn't do it because he care for JC but to Wwx still think he's an outsider but to JC he's family. Although they both sacrifice for each other, it's...... not the same.

He's very clear with his choice even back when he's still learning .The fact that he choose that path, everyone who knew him should've known he has no choice and yet they're questioning his integrity.
