On the other hand, a direct hit on his head like that hurt Enji quite a bit, especially in his current state, so he barely managed to stop himself from being knocked out. Lucario did not come out of that exchange in much of a better shape than Enji. Not only was Lucario's shoulder bleeding quite a bit, but other parts of his shoulder were a bit signed due to his own Hyper Beam. I had not seen a Mega Stone on Lucario's body, which was why I was surprised when he suddenly lit up like that, but considering how the light had originated from behind Lucario's head, I was assuming that the Lucarionite had been hidden behind/between the extensions on the back of his head. However, as Lucario's reaction had shown, Steaming Mist was nothing like the move Mist. In fact, considering that Mist was an ice-type move, I'd say they were on the opposite of the move-type spectrum since Steaming Mist could probably be classified as a steam-type move, which thanks to Ignis' Steam Core talent and Volcanion's blessing could be counted as a real thing since it did truly combine fire and water energy into a new derivative energy, we called steam energy. - ysanta976dCommented

I think the protects in your story are too op. How are they withstanding multiple attacks for an extended period, when they're supposed to be emergency shield for just a few seconds.

"Dragon Pulse," I had to order since Flash Cannon was aimed in the right direction, which I assumed was thanks to Future Sight. While the two beams clashed, Enji suddenly spoke up over the telepathic link. 'Dad, I can use all my moves again,' he said, his excitement shining through. 'Great, Teleport away, then use Sunny Day to get rid of this pesky rain,' I instructed. Enji then stopped using Dragon Pulse and directly Teleported away before Flash Cannon could reach him. - ysanta9716dCommented

"Explosion," Stephanie commanded, and her Steelix lit up for a moment before blowing up without any hesitation, catching me off guard since I did not expect her to directly sacrifice her Steelix in an attempt to take down Mars considering that it was nowhere near close to being beaten yet. Compared to that my Gym Team consisted of Mothra/Butterfree, Enji/Arcanine, Mars/Ursasol, Ignis/Gyarados, Stan/Gyarados, and Ryujin/Gyarados. All of them aside from Mars were at the (high) dark gold stage. Only Mars was still at the (mid) dark gold stage, which was why I was planning to lead with him. I was hoping Stephanie would lead with either Escavalier or Bisharp since those would likely prove to be the least challenging for Mars, though I was by no means expecting a fight against them to be easy. - ysanta9717dCommented
You might want to add some contractions when they speak as family and friends. Omiting contractions makes it sound way too formal, or like you're just writing or quoting the conversation, rather than having us read about it.
"Well, this is quite the surprise," I conceded with a smile. "I did not expect you to know about the Gym Battle since I kept it to myself," I admitted and Mom gave me a glare at that before she pulled me into a hug. The moment Nyx could move again, she threw sand at Scizor's eyes, interrupting its attack, and while it was distracted she fired a point-blank Dark Pulse at its head, which finally allowed her to take Scizor down. The referee waited a for few moments before declaring Scizor unable to battle which made Nyx the winner. The Gym Trainer then recalled it before she sent out her next opponent, which ended up being a Probopass. As usual, I raised my hand and declared that I was forfeiting my Pokemon.
