Exactly, I feel the same. The more I read this story, the angrier I feel. Nick is one of the stupidest characters I've ever read about. It seems that the author doesn't know what he wants Nick to be. Nick's goals are to improve people's lives, but his actions are worse than those of a cruel villain. He kills people as if they were insects if that person "deserves it", but at the same time, he feels very bad when he kills someone who "doesn't deserve it" to the point of thinking about suicide. He thinks he has high morality and is the ideal person to raise a just world, but his actions only make things worse. It doesn't make any sense.
Nick Nick's hypocrisy is glaring. He seeks redemption to alleviate his guilt and agony, much like anyone else would. Yet, he blames Wyntor. His hands are stained with the blood of countless innocent lives, all for his selfish desires driven by childish revenge. And now, he clamors for yet another act of vengeance. How can someone be so oblivious to their own faults and consumed by their emotions?
