Besides the honesty that Ruth possesses (as other commenters have praised), I think him treating and talking to Maxi as equals should be appreciated too. He doesn't put her on a pedestal like Riftan does and doesn't belittle her as her sperm donor does either. I think being on equal standing is something Maxi definitely needs to help her accept herself and to allow her confidence grow.

Being told that there are no expectations set on you HURTS! I know it wasnt Riftan's intention (and we know he loves her too much to hurt her intentionally), but we can see that Maxi cant accept that she cannot be useful to him, which I am so proud of!
