I think the replies here are very stupid, the commenter probably knows that the “don’t say gay bill” is just a name given by critics of the bill and is not literally meant to be that. It’s a name that was give because House Bill 1069 makes it so that schools can’t teach kids about gender identity or sexual orientation from prekindergarten through grade 8. From grades 9 through 12, such content must be "age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards." However, the Florida Board of Education had already voted to expand the restriction from kindergarten through 12th grade. In much simpler words I believe it means that kids and teens can’t even learn in schools that trans or gay people just exist in schools which is in my opinion not great since some kids and teens are born gay or trans so they won’t even learn what they are which could lead to feelings of self hatred. Those kids and teens will probably think that they should not be the way that they are and are wrong for being so which is a very sad mind set to have. Of course they could learn about it from their parents or through the Internet but still. This is just from some article I found if you are interested just research yourself.
