I only read until Chapter 600, so I don’t know. At that point in time I think she didn’t even die yet, if I remember correctly.

This novel has great characters and is full of comedy. The humour comes from the diverse cast of gentlemen(perverts) and their weird schenanigans in a massive world full of schemes and plots where there is no right or wrong. The story is one where the protagonist alone can do nothing to stop the end of the world(from a prophecy), which is why he travels around in order to find comrades that can help him in preventing that tragedy. All in all I think back on this book with mixed feelings, because I really enjoyed the journey but there were a lot of really clear problems which I didn't like. Pros: No one can rescue the world alone. The protagonist creates religions and revives countries and creates alliances in order to involve as many people as possible so that he can achieve his goal. This builds a very atmosphere for this story. The world building is very detailed and unique. Many common fantasy tropes/cliches are used with a new flair. Many times there comes a new reveal that changes the entire understanding of what we read for the whole time.(Example: Yongye at the start) There aren't many moments like that, but when something really hype happens it really hits different. Estradas fight was really crazy when it happened. Cons: The second half of this book is a lot worse than the first. At the start we had many fun and amusing gentlemen together with a good story, but later this fantastic cast of characters were completely relegated to the background for the greater story and lost relevance. Annie from the start is a great example. At the start Roland helps her to take over Sulfur Mountain City and then she only appears once in the story at around chapter 200 and then only gets mentioned a few times and doesn't even appear anymore. Another of the problems is that Roland in his monologes starts repeating himself more and more the more one read. Something cool is happening and he talks about his powerlessness and how he needs reliable comrades to help him for the 305th time. The same is for information. The ending for me also seems kinda rushed and weird and doesn't bring an end to many of the characters and their arcs which left me personally unsatisfied with mixed feelings.

I don't know what to say. This novel is the best or at least one of the best novels I ever read! After the Antarctica arc (Chapter 1060), where I stopped reading to build up chapters, I couldn't read any other novels for like 3 days because they weren't good enough or just didn't get the same feeling like with this novel. In the end I just consumed SS content from reddit and other platforms. Now let's move on to the review: Writing Quality: The writing quality is very good. The author uses many interesting words that I (not a native speaker) didn't know about. These words are nice for example describing the armors or equipment. I think it gives the novel a bit of a unique flair and differentiates it from others. But in the grand scheme of things it isn't that important and can be ignored if you aren't a fan of such things. The grammar and sentence structure are great. I couldn't find any glaring mistakes that would be annoying. Stability of Updates: For me 2 chapters a day is a lot for such a high quality novel. It surprises me how he can write so much and consistently with such a high quality. Story Development: I was never disappointed. The story flows really good. Everything that happens makes a lot of sense. Trying to decipher the prophecies of Cassie in the first arc was fantastic. Never have I seen them integrated in a story in a perfect kind of way. And when he finds out about the truth of that was really great. The story and world building is simply fantastic. Every region in the Dream Realm we visited had an absolutely crazy lore that was perfectly integrated with the story. The nightmares in and of themselves are also a great way to learn more about the lore and we can always puzzle things together with the previous lore we got from descriptions of memories and echoes. The involvement of the real world through the antarctica campaign was also fantastic. Pauses in the story are also given from time to time by spending time i the real world to recover from the literal traumas one can receive i the dream realm. Character Design: The character design is good. It also doesn't shove the good looks of the characters in your face in a way that can be annoying. It describes them in an appropriate amount and doesn't mention it in every new scene like some other novels. World Background: The lore is absolutely crazy for each new region of the dream realm. We can also slowly put everything together with the characters which is very entertaining. The questions about the gods and daemons are still something for the future but the small pieces of information we get always feel rewarding and interesting. The Dream Realm is an environment that gives me a lot of Dark Souls vibes. It's dark, captivating and sometimes even insane. Characters: Sunny is a very interesting character. At the start he is a very scheming and untrustworthy person since he lived in the slums. But with enough time he learns to trust his comrades and forms a real bond with them which is very nice to watch. We can many times see his traumas of his past resurface. His backstory with Rain was also very touching. All of the other characters also have their own growth and are interesting in their own right. Power System: It is simply ingenious. The concept of flaws in correlation to the aspects is great. "To gain great power you have to give up something". Sunny a kid who survived from lying cant lie. Cassie a seer is blind and so on. Conclusion: This novel is a masterpiece I can't describe how much I love it. If you are searching for a new interesting book or novel to read you should definetly try Shadow Slave. I assure you you will love it!

I also stopped at chapter 600 to wait for new chapters to build up. And altough i agree with you in that we all knew emery would eventually end up with klea we need a transition from him loving gwen to then klea. His feelings for gwen cant just disappear. That s why i think the rejection was really well done in a logical manner together with his own following reaction. That the author even did that i think shows promise because could be a turnoff for a lot of fans. So if you read on could you tell me if the romance is still as interesting and if you did not i would recommend to keep reading.

This is one of my favorite novels right now. And I am not even that interested in Yuri. Emilia is a very good and fun protagonist. The jokes in this story are genuinely funny and and get me to laugh. All the other characters don’t get neglected and each have their moments to shine. As much as it can be praised it has to be said that in the description it is said that Emilia will visit many different worlds in which she will complete the missions to earn energy from the will of the world. We are still in the first world and the novel has 470 chapters. But this is needed because the goals to possibly take the energy from the will of the world are very hard to achieve and take a long time. As cool as it is in the current arc she creates an empire in the modern world and in the process there is A LOT of plot armor.

The story is quite good but maybe a bit too fast in proportion to the time passing in the novel. Things can get stretched like the unnecessarily long chase to find Craig. The adults most of the time feel like the children and the children like the adults. The characters are likeable and there are some funny moments mixed in. The world is quite detailed and I like how Evelyn’s system and the level up system are bound into the story. All in all it is a fun read and I can recommend it.
