if you want get to know someone on a first date then the cinema isn' t the best thing to do. Two hours watching a screen and no talking. Also dinner on a first date can get akward sitting at a table trying to get through the meals when it doesn't "click". Go for a walk, get coffee, an ice cream, go on a self made picnic, play midget golf.... anything other than dinner or cinema. You can then stop anytime if the date doesn't work out...
