first the master was not pure evil. It was either him or Han li one of them had to die. Han li was never angry with him in the first place and even said he respected him. Second Han Li still needs to cut ties with the mortal world and if he lets two innocent girls who have ties with him (just because their father was bad doesn't mean he isn't still their junior martiat brother) just die he probably would regret it based on his personality. So he killed 'innocent' people (the same so called innocent old man that tried to kill him the second he said he was from the mo family) to get rid of future inner demons and further cut ties with their family.

I wonder why they all have spirit beasts. does this have something to do with forming a nascent soul? that would be kinda cool

I think "the time it takes to brew a pot of tea" Is 5 mins and "the time it takes to finish a meal" 10 mins? just a guess

not really a solid plot hole, zenith yin was core formation when he was bone sages disciple. he most likely didn't 1V1 him but instead trapped him or something along those lines. use Ur head a little
