I should also point out that the MC is cunning, resourceful, has a really unique and flexible set of abilities, and is a good enough person that we can still wholeheartedly root for him as the hero of the story. I also love the dynamic of him having to deviously work around his flaw.

Please don't let it be so. I'm sure GuiltyThree could make it work, but this story deserves so much better than to just copy Solo Leveling.

Truly exceptional. There are only two things that may turn a reader away: 1. It's not a blatant power fantasy. 2. The pacing is a little slow. I personally see both of these "detractions" as positives, as there is already an ocean of content on Webnovel that panders to their opposites: MC's that are the overpowered center of their universe, who quickly and confidently march upward in their respective power tiers, easily mowing down all competitors and obstacles. Additionally, I would say the pace isn't slow, but is more akin to what you'd find in a classic fantasy novel, rather than a webnovel. The slower pacing gives the characters and world the time they need to organically grow and develop. Great aspects of this work: - Nuanced main character who grapples with his morality, crippling loneliness, serious trust issues, and a sense of not being needed/loved by anyone. I am really invested in Sunny, and am rooting for him! - MC must struggle and creatively adapt to overcome challenges. He doesn't always win, and no two fights are the same. This makes every fight exciting. - Best d*mn worldbuilding on this entire site. Takes a moment to get there, but I stand by what I said. - Airtight power system. It's always perfectly clear what is happening and what each character is capable of. - Well-written dialogue (Lord knows this is a rarity in webnovels). - All characters consistently and intelligently use their full arsenal of abilities, and many side characters leave a significant impact on the direction of the narrative. Side characters are not just decorational. - Characters (including antagonists) aren't pointlessly belligerent for no reason. Everyone has realistic motivations. - Nuanced FL who is not there just to shine a light on the glory of the MC, but has her own story. - No rape/NTR/incest/lemons. Just good old wholesome fantasy! (Desperately needed, in my opinion). I have only a couple minor suggestions for the author: 1. Sunny's personality seemed to randomly fluctuate over the first couple arcs (especially his morality and social competence). It seems to have stabilized somewhat, but please be careful with this moving forward. 2. Some of the secondary characters would feel so much more real with just a little more attention. As an example, take Cassie (SPOILER WARNING THROUGH REST OF POINT #2): What makes her tick? Does she have any motivations beyond simple survival? What does she feel about Nephis's methods? What line wouldn't she cross? Being a generally kind person, does she see/care about Sunny's loneliness? Or what about Caster? What makes him willing to risk permanent imprisonment and probable death along the forgotten shore for the sake of his goal? Does he grapple internally with this? How has Kai sought for authenticity after gaining his flaw? 3. I'd love to eventually see more development of Earth. You've done such a fantastic job crafting the Dream Realm, it'd feel like a letdown if Earth doesn't get any attention. How has the Nightmare Spell brought out humanity's better angels and inner demons? What is life like for those with and without power? How have institutions (government and criminal) changed? Any differences to reality beyond those brought about by the Nightmare Spell? 4. Could you please outline a bit clearer how the two power systems (Rank and Class) for monsters interact? For example, is an awakened devil (Rank = 2 * Class = 4) equal to a fallen monster (Rank = 4 * Class = 2) in terms of strength? Is it simply based on the math behind how many shadow cores they would provide? Or is it more nuanced than straightforward ranks of pure power? 5. Please go faster! I'm loving this so much I can't wait for more of your content. Keep up the great work!
