I think it’s trying to do the “bow before your father” cultivation novel thing, but, but, why did it have to be daddy??? You could have used “dad”, or just the traditional “father”, and it would have been fine!

It is a little soon compared with lotm, but I guess this could be something of a prologue? Like how the original Klein and his friends found Antigonus Family’s notebook, died, and was replaced by Zhou Mingrui. Imagine if the climax of this story is Lumian being killed and replaced by the real protagonist XDD
