This has gotta be the worst love triangle I’ve ever seen an author try to write. Dude forces a ml into the mc and fl relationship just to right after remove the fl making you think “oh it’s gonna be mc x ml” nope they pull the fl from wherever dark hole they threw her in back into story just so she can swoop in and take the mc.
If your looking for a smut that blends a good story wit sex scenes then this isn’t for you cuz the almost everything in this novel sucks from the characters, to the plot, to world design it’s just bad the only reason it’s being rated so highly is bc one the mc is a “Chad” and it has sex in it. If ur just looking for a novel wit sex in it I guess read this but personal I don’t like it.
Overall I think the story is okay up until after 1000+. the novelty of the system and the new story crossovers wears off very fast In my opinion. The story is kinda saved by the fact that after that point becomes more focused on the MCU timeline so it’s not doing anything crazy so it’s still pretty interesting, but it’s still kind of bland in my personal opinion. after about specifically, the John Wick arc, the dialogue takes a kind of a downturn, like throughout the story there were hints of the Chinese novel speak with the idioms the face slapping young master speak, but it wasn’t as bad until after the John Wick arc where him and Tony interacted way more and that’s pretty much how all of their dialogue went. I enjoyed the earlier chapters a lot because I like the laid-backness of the system while it also wasn’t super overpowered but as the chapters went on, and I realized that the MC was never going to be able to get any of the cool powers so the story became kinda bland for me, the only way I can describe this is like watching Thor fight without his thunder, or any of his magic it’s like yeah a pure hammer pure technique. Fight is cool for a bit but the novelty wears down very fast , and that’s what it was like for me reading this the MC doesn’t have any powers. He can’t learn any of Doctor Strange his abilities he can’t learn any of Jason or Freddy’s abilities. He can’t learn certain other peoples abilities, and in a sense that makes sense because their abilities are borrowed from higher powers but you actually think about it you realize how inconsistent the Nerf is like him not being able to use damn near all of the in humans abilities makes no sense for the pure fact that he’s able to use other in humans abilities like he’s able to use mind abilities he’s able to use daggers heal ability he’s able to use poison ivy pontification so this becomes very annoying personally like I could understand the author trying to suppress the MC a bit but to say you can’t use like 100 abilities from the inhuman and it only give you seven, and like four of them are physical abilities. I personally feel that’s very fucked up. I feel that it takes away a lot of the coolness factor and the interest that I have in the series , especially when it’s a story that allows the mc copy other peoples abilities that’s why I say at like 1000 it starts to wear off because after 1000 that’s when the mc starts to run into more people wit superpowers, and every single time he’s not able to learn any of them and so you kinda just sit there like oh I wish he had thors lightning or wish she had such and such’s ability but it’s like he can’t because the author Nerf him and it’s a very arbitrary Nerf, while the author tries to explain why it works that way. It doesn’t really make any sense like if you look at the ending, tries to explain why he’s not able to get certain powers, “every single magic in marvel is borrowed from a higher source”, so he’s not able to use it but that doesn’t make any sense because he’s able to use daggers healing ability even though that’s supposed to be borrowed from a higher source. Hell he’s even able to use poison ivy partial plant transformation, but that’s supposed to be from a higher source like hell I think even if he went and got cloaks abilities he’ll be able to use it he’s even able to use mimicry. overall the limiter that the author put on the MC is very finicky is not consistent at all and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth as a person who likes visual, flashy cool shit and that’s why I personally cant rate this any higher. Overall, I would have to write this novel about a B personally because while I think the first like 1000 and maybe some more chapters were really good after that it kind of died off and it had to ride on the back of the MCU a little too hard to stay interesting. there were a couple problems, besides the system and story losing interest, there is a hint of racism towards Japanese people, but I wouldn’t say it’s too crazy but it did throw me off. Also it does feel like the author does try to dig into America a bit too much but personally, I’m not too offended. there isn’t any nationalism in the novel that I saw the author seems to try and not talk that much about China, there is the part where the MC was going after the hydra, and he had to stay away from china , because of surveillance and shit, the MC and Selena did go on a food spree there. That’s pretty much it Everything else was no nationalism. I do like the author at least trying to keep some of the characters close to what they were originally even though I felt like they were getting too young mastery, Chinese novel vibey for me at times. Tldr. I like the story but it got boring after the John wick arc. Also I wish the mc was able to use more of the inhumanes powers bc his fights got very stale wit him just using physical abilities, a mech suit, and guns.
Honestly I think the thanos fight should’ve been all Luke’s clones and himself vs thanos, couldve had clone 1 providing sniper support bc it’s the weakest while V uses yo-yo wit a special sword to try and surprise thanos. Knight and dipper being the strongest would fight thanos head on in a back and forth wit him not being able to fully lock down any of them. To me this seems like a cooler fight scene concept than what we got. The mc could also save his final form for mephisto if the author really wanted to show it off. Idk just a random thought ╮༼ • ʖ̯ • ༽╭
Given the state of the world at the time of the release of the novel, and now I would’ve assumed that people had come to the realization that cops are not obligated to protect citizens. The motto “protect and serve” has no actual meaning to it bc cops aren’t forced to uphold it.
I mean I guess the title is kinda misleading but the story establishes very early on that the “detective” system is more of a justice system given the fact that the system doesn’t issue missions and he gains exp from doing regular cop shit. As for where u say he just shoots people indiscriminately I’d like to know where that happens cuz he get penalized for doing evil.
