A swath of purple-black boils the size of his palm covered the skin from under the rib cage to the waist. A viscous fluid oozed out of the swollen bubbles of flesh, black as tar. The rest of the skin seemed unnaturally thin and gave the torso the appearance of being wrapped in crepe paper. No, no. Wren is pretty much one of the sweetest souls to ever exist and has never been a villain at all. That is one of the lies that hold him prisoner. He is just frustrated now because he feels weak when he wants to be strong for Rowan (and everyone), and although he doesn’t remember the details, he knows deep down that Ciprian took advantage of his weakness.
'You know who my father is. I am not a human like Ciprian. I can't remember how, but I know he is responsible for taking me away from you." Wren's words turned to fire at the sudden mention of the man who'd behaved as if he were the only god anyone needed. "He has no idea what I am truly capable of, if only I wasn't…"
