It’s infuriating how slowly webnovel is releasing chapters. I remember when it was 1 chapter a day for book 1 and now it’s 3 per week. For some reason it also says 9 chapters are released per week (as an average calculated over 30 days as if anyone cares about an average) and I feel like it’s intentionally misleading. Why not just put 3 chapters per week and not give me false hope???

What Rosetta’s saying sort of applies to Maxi but they ultimately had different childhoods that affected them in different ways. Rosetta is extremely cynical and mistrusting because she saw how much of a sociopath their father was, but I doubt her self esteem was affected because she was always praised as the beautiful one. Maxi on the other hand was constantly beaten and told she was worthless so now she has extremely low self esteem and has trouble accepting love from other people. It’s almost like they now have opposite mindsets - Rosetta thinks everyone is capable of cruelty so she trusts no one, whereas Maxi thinks she’s undeserving of love so she trusts no one who gives it to her. Rosetta’s view of other people has been deeply affected but it’s only Maxi’s view of herself that has suffered. It seems like now, Rosetta’s incapable of giving love while Maxi is incapable of receiving it. Anyway that would explain why Rosetta sucks so much lol

I have a suspicion that the reason both Maxi and Rosetta’s mothers miscarried so many times is because the duke was actually infertile and not them. I think Maxi only miscarried this time because she depleted her mana so severely (and didn’t the goblin that got ahold of her also hit her in the stomach?). I have a feeling she didn’t actually inherit a difficulty having children and won’t suffer the same fate as her mother.
Riftan was like any feudal lord. He would undoubtedly want an heir who would one day inherit his castle, land, and fortune. There was no guarantee that she would ever conceive again.
