I would like chapters of what's happening. it will broaden the storyline with new details and flush out more personalities, especially if they might get close to eragon. you have done a handful of povs for them so far which has kept us updated on what's going on which worked when not much was going on. but since things are escalating on both sides I think the full story would be best. though this is my opinion and you have been doing a great job so whatever you end up doing will be good anyways.

I would say speed it up a little, you could go 1-3 chapters each with each character you want him to interact with before the game starts if there harem members, 1 chapter for males and as said already in the story those who work for him can be met in a day like some company party of some sort. you could possible get to the game launch in 10 chapters which isn't bad for laying the foundation with the harem members and friends.
