I think Ruth knows that Maxi lived a very sheltered life so he is trying to get her out and about to see things and to be more comfortable outside. I think that's why he suggested stopping at the market so that she could see lots of different people and things as well as learn more about magic. this is just my theory but Ruth is definitely more perceptive than Riftan when it comes to understanding Maxis upbringing and life

I don't understand how chapters are released... so everyone here has had this chapter released before me I was only able to read this chapter today. surely if it's available for one person then it should just be available for everyone because its been translated?
