although I came 2 years late I have an answer which is "sword god in a world of magic" I started reading it and it completely captivated me I couldn't put it down I love nearly everything about it 2 thing that might put you off is the main character but you don't gotta worry about that at the start and also the very first 7 chapters

This book has a unique power system I have never seen before and that really makes me interested in it.

I wonder if they would belive nick when he tells them that Mark betrayed nicks location in an attempt to save himself

I think in an earlier chapter Julian said that the nurse had emotions or something like that and considering nicks relation to level 9 specters it might be possible that he can be a specter (I personally don't think he is a specter but it would be cool)

I'm pretty sure Julian isn't strong enough to fool the governor yet so if he does that the governor would definetly find something suspicious

I'm just really curious as to what nicks new ability is and if it plays into whatever is unfolding right now

the first few chapter are a bit boring in my opinion but it gets way better later

I hope nick doesn't wish for the death of wyntor in the heat of the moment I'd rather him wish for something like "help me achieve my revenge"

I was originally thinking distortion but I'm pretty sure that specter is from anatomy and nick just punched a dude from there so I'm guessing it's not gonna be easy

it would be pretty cool if hypothetical nick got an ability and it would be a Mist that slowly decayed people and slowly made them insane depending on their level

I haven't thought of that but considering how specters act it is highly possible
