It's not like she can Google him. She has tried to ask him about his past more than once, and he shuts the conversation down. She's talked to Ruth about him as well. I also wish she wasn't so clueless about his past, but Riftan is a big reason why she doesn't know about him. He doesn't like to talk about himself and, for whatever reason, refuses to tell her that they met when they were kids.
