No one who was abused for 20 years can change in a few weeks. Maxi can be heartbreaking and sometimes annoying in her overthinking, but her character is terrifying realistic. Be patient, folks. This is a truly slow burn, not a easy story in which the main character changes with the power of love. It doesn't happen in reality. If you're strong enough to survive the first half of the story with both of their problems, you'll be rewarded later when they'll overcome their fears and (slowly) change into better people.

I know, I've already read all the chapters. And this is why I like this so much, because characters actually takes time to learn, as it happens in reality (which sadly doesn't always happens in novels/fanfictions)

Dear author, if you are looking at the reviews please think seriously about publishing this as a book instead that using this scam of an app. Your story is a masterpiece and it deserves to reach more people. And if many were interested at the beginning, as many are leaving because of the slow updates.

At this point only talking can solve all those misunderstandings, but they're both so scared of their own faults that they can't see how much they love and care for each others. But I appreciated that the author didn't just solve all their problems within a couple of chapters, because that's not how it happens in reality. It takes time, it's painful and they're just at the beginning. They can just improve together, little by little.

This chapter shows both of their insecurities. Riftan was poor and he fears that the woman he loves won't be satisfied with him. Even if he worked hard to gain gold, he's still not a noble and it's probably a big issue for his pride. On the other hand Maxi has grown up being told to be useless and stupid and whatever that idiot of a sperm donor did to her... She simply can't understand why he would want to be with her because she believes that she isn't worthy They have a lot to work with, both of them honestly, but we're still at the beginning!
