I disagree Based on what i studied in psychology this would cause any mental scars to slowly disappear without one requiring to think about it and deal with feelings It would be easier for Mc to try to believe he is indifferent to something due to this ability and therefor the longer he believes it the more it becomes true Think of it this way, the more you repeat something the easier it is to believe it That’s why it’s suggested for low self esteem people to repeatedly say positive things about themselves to improve their self esteem And the actual emotions the Mc has would disappear without a trace as long as he lets it happen

Some people read stories with different perspectives Example of what I’m talking about is self inserting If one likes to self insert then it might be uncomfortable to do it with a character that has a different gender Another thing is that a lot of people look for a character that they can relate too Personally I’m a self inserter and love characters that are insane or unique while being logical because sometimes it’s fun to try to understand such characters and other times those characters make the story more interesting for me to read

it would be better if points are awarded more frequintly and can be used for easier working conditions and food while freedom is at a very high cost with a certain limit to how many can buy it per month with the deciding factors being points if need be this could cause some slave to want to stay as a slave if they get use to this and to be scared of what would they do afterwards when they get free it would also allow for the slaves to slow the process to becoming free by themselves

now that i think about it wouldnt the best crew on the ships be mainly mages with some knights or warriors and a priest
