It's not blind belief like some god will give blessings if we touch our head to the ground or his feet. In Bharath, gods are just tools we use to motivate ourselves to be good and cultured. Gods are just people who do things beyond human scope. We even worship tools as gods in needed times. The MC's mother, though she was Japanese, she explored yoga in Bharath, so she raised her child in that way.
