"I've always wanted a kitten, but it doesn't matter what you are, I'm here to adopt you." He answered, making Valda's eyes snap wide at what he just said.
Valda glanced nervously at Eryx who was watching the situation out of mere curiosity, and it didn't miss her notice that his presence was effortlessly ignored by the chief guard. He was right beside her, but due to how the chief guard was fixated solely on her, she couldn't help but suspect that maybe he couldn't see him?
Before Valda could comprehend the situation, the chief guard had raised his own hands and was vigorously striking himself hard in the face. Her pupils dilated at his actions, and as if ensorcelled by some unseen force, he persisted in his relentless self-flagellation without a pause.
"Destined?" His lips twitched into a subtle smile, "you believe in fate? I hesitate to accept that notion, for if that were the case, she wouldn't be destined to be here with me at all. I'm forging this destiny of mine, forcing my way into her life regardless of the consequences, just like I did once."
Caesar whipped his head up to glare at her. "You are not going anywhere! You will be here with me from now on," he said. "Don't ever even think I would let you go, even if for a day. You would never leave…not me." His hot breath fanned against her shoulder, and he buried his face in the crook of her neck.
