footsteps is plural so "they" might just refer to those footsteps

distillation is the process I'm talking about - at 173°F or about 78°C, ethyl alcohol boils off from the rest of the liquid. if you can capture it, then cool it down to condense it back into liquid form, you get concentrated alcohol.
for those wondering, you can separate the alcohol from the rest of the wine to concentrate its alcohol content, making spirits.

I have to put it out there, because this conversation is so one-sided, but not all sibling relationships are like this. For example, my siblings and I are each a few years apart. We try not to irritate each other at all because we know that we each have limits and have seen enough turmoil in our lives to know that we hate conflict. I get along fine with my older brothers, but my elder sister has PTSD from physical abuse when she was young and she passed that abuse onto my younger self, so I cut her out of my life. My brothers and I make jokes with one another, but never insult each other. If it happens, we apologize. it's just the way we are. Please understand that not all sibling relationships are as depicted in this novel.

I considered your comment, looked up the definition and iits associated terms ("obstruction" and "hindered"), but I still believe that what the author is trying to say is that this "horde" which visually appears to be a massive obstruction that could hinder an awakened or a mundane soldier's progression can be considered as nothing at all in the path of a saint and two masters. So under these specific circumstances, they're progressing as fast as they would have even without the horde being present.
they're just that good. good enough to slash and hack their way through without slowing down
besides, it'll be much more interesting to see how they can be utilized

doesn't change the fact that she lost that part of herself after the world changed. there's no longer an *opportunity* to give criticism. now it's like a distant memory.
when games were still virtual (not face-to-face), she would give criticism at every turn - to everyone. now she keeps her thoughts to herself
she went from voicing her thoughts at every turn to being the quietest in the group
sounds like the legend of zelda
that's a "no," otherwise it would've said that he "nodded" his head
which made the whole process faster** 👍
