In reality, the invasive species was an insectoid creature that possessed a type of energy that was modifying the Celestial from its basic building blocks of life. He didn't know what would happen once the condition ran its full cycle. He hoped the space plague would end up killing the Celestial, but he was not sure that was the end result. Even now, the celestial he unearthed from ice is not entirely dead. He didn't want to spill more blood so he fired off a glancing shot with his laser beam that singed the edges of the two remaining ships. Thankfully, the Kree got the wanting and decided to cut their losses. They took their remaining fighters on board and took the quick way out by engaging their FTL engines. This left Cerion and a partially functioning Kree ship floating in space. The world's magic is not close to what it is in the HP world. Harry can use his magic, obviously, but not to the extent he can in the HP world. Using magic for battle and being a lazy slob who does not do anything productive is very different. Magic is a weapon far greater than any sword or arrows. That's an easily understandable concept.
Unfortunately, all the ruckus Jon made attracted uncle Benjen's attention. The man has taken a vow to teach Harry the 'glory' of swordplay. Harry was quite sure that was not going to make any traction with him. After all, who wants to wave around a piece of metal like some barbarian when he has the power to alter the reality itself. The first phase required the curbing of all decision-makers and leaders in Blacktyde. For that, Harry struck the castle of Blacktyde, taking out the maester of the castle and any remaining members of House Blacktyde in one stroke. The next phase focused on attacking the beachheads with great force so that the Northern ships could dock at the port of Blacktyde.
