I believe they don't know Future Sight while Prime Whitebeard knows it. He had to if he was capable of going toe to toe with Roger. So, however they moved, it wouldn't matter as Whitebeard would know beforehand. As for them damaging Whitebeard with AOE Attacks? Heh! In my opinion, Whitebeard's Armament Haki is strong enough to tank whatever they throw at him. And forget about tiring his Haki out. Old, injured, and an ill WB could destroy much of the Marineford. Before they could tire him out, Marineford would cease to exist...

He wasn't scared by Ace revealing his plans! He was shocked to Ace talking and behaving in a manner he was completely unfamiliar with. This was what he was scared about. At this point, he knows that Ace won't die here. And now that Ace showed such a new side to him, he was corncerned that all this time, he hadn't truly got to know Ace truly. Whatever plans he would make in regards to the Whitebeard Pirates in the future, he don't know their response with Ace leading them.
