I do not understand how she can steal knowledge from his mind by controlling his body. Are these skills physically imprinted in his body or on his spirit weapon? It would make sense then, if she can activate each skill sort of like a button, but there is no way that she can reasonably steal the knowledge out of someone's mind using this method.
Agreed. I thought the concept of the novel was neat but I am willing to drop this if the MC continues with this.
I know that the whole theme is elephants, but I hope he doesn't turn into one.
I can see that you intend to write in third omniscient. The problem that I am having, is that you switch POVs with little warning. It breaks my immersion when I’m reading through Inala and out of nowhere, I’m reading in Resha’s mind. It takes me a few seconds to realize that you switched the POV.
These beasts must not have natural predators then. The rear guard is just as important as the front in most cases. You’d usually put the more weak people in the middle so that they are defended on both sides.
This POV shift is kind of random
Man do I not like the name of that sutra lol
Dissecting one of your prime talents and betraying the trust that a disciple of a sect would give towards the top brass is the right direction? I wouldn't want to join a sect where they will dissect me
I wouldn't be surprised if the MC is keeping him around as motivation since Han Li would want revenge.
Doesn’t Wang mean king? The empire is named Great Great empire then.
I think that this would be too much for the MC at this point in time imo
As much as I can agree with how dumb it was, Varian was grieving and most likely suffering from survivor’s guilt. When you’re in that kind of mind space, you’ll find an excuse to think of yourself as unworthy and bad.
Two flashbacks in the first two chapters.
What a weird spoiler author. Why would you spoil something like that and lose some of the mystery.
Goodbye mom! Your death is necessary for the backstory!
With that kind of mindset, shouldn’t he have tried more in the academy? To me, it feels a little hypocritical that he claims this while simultaneously dropping his grades because he got bullied and ignored the offer for that military school. That statement sounds cool, but he doesn’t seem to live up to it imo.
All of the tropes seem Chinese so I am assuming the sword is a jian.
