Honestly she should realize that getting someone family killed and angrily protesting when his parents beg for his life because you want him to die too for your conveniance isn't something you "get over". It makes a lot more sense when Nathan's past life is explained. He was a poor, crippled street rat that had his family murdered by an international criminal gang. So he infiltrated the gang, used his intelligence to gain a position of negotiator for the families head negitiator, and then murdered the whole family, leading to the collapse of the gang. However in order to do this he had to do more than a few morally devious things, so he became a broken man. Reading Leon's story was a coping mechanism for him.More importantly, he doesn't baby leon. He steals insignificant cheats from leon, exploits leon in his plans, amd intentionally causes him trouble to boost his growth. He just likes leon and doesn't want him to die, as that means game over for earth. What do you want him to do, murder the idiot?
