This "person" sounds like a jealous but powerful spirit. Like in one of XueXue's previous incarnations she was loved by so many people, this "person" became jealous and put a curse on her, taking her form, and forcing the same people to worship her instead, trying to have XueXue's life. Sounds like life time after lifetime it has repeated and she is not only still not satisfied she is still incredibly jealous. XueXue personality and soul are reincarnating "too pure" each time, which is where her true allure lies.
