This might be a wrong view to look at the world with and wrong comparison to make. Considering how gold may be much more commonly found in this world, lowering its value by a lot. To give context, there are asteroids with so much gold that considering the value of gold, it could give every single human in earth approximately a few billion dollars.
What the teenager knew was that even in another world there was little chance of gold losing its value. Based only on the size and number of coins spent, it was several hundred grams of pure gold.
