This chapter seems to be a turning point in the book. In general, I really liked it. There's a curious and creative touch of Snowpiercer with Battleship Potemkin. However I must say that part in the bar where Mika used the words "bourgeois" and "proletariat" was not very appropriate, it seemed a bit displaced in the context of this world. Probably the words "workers" and "nobility" could fit better. P.S.: The Pawn Stars moment in the beggining of the chapter was a funny, a calm before the storm moment.
The differences between the Earth and Kraven began to appear. It's not that different, but it has relevant ones, like the unexistance idea of a strike or the useless need of good reading and writing, a little Fahrenheint 451 moment. P.S: the cooking scene between Mika and Any is fun and even cozy. A little break from the dark and sad scenarios is always welcome.
The beginning of the chapter had a good scenario due to the factory and its repetititve work allied to the poor domestic conditions of the characters, kind of a sad and dark Chaplin's Modern Times. The mystical touch about the deities is a good addition, because it allows to develop a more complex and divided world, especially in the festival part and its meaning. It's like a prequel to the Russian Revolution, but with deities. The conclusion of the chapter makes an interesting conection with the prologue, even more with the devastating background of the character we're following. It reminds me a lot of the classic soviet movie "Come and See" (1985), another devastating story about a boy losing his family and, at the same time, he has to face a war.
