I have enjoyed the read, but, it is moving forward too slowly. I think I have now spent about what I paid for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and there is no end in sight, and this isn’t as tightly wrItten as a Harry Potter novel. The MC keeps moving from situation to situation like Forrest Gump. He is the head of the most powerful family but, simultaneously, no one knows and everyone knows! Instead of introducing secondary characters that unknowingly offend the MC and then learn from their relative that they are going to die unless they apologize, I would like to see the story concentrate on the MC becoming the well respected head of Peregrine Hall, and all opposition is crushed by his superior cunning and people skills. Then cummupence needs to come to Quinn Larson and the Larsons who treated him badly. Allowing the MC to triumph and be victorious. Lastly, the story is moving forward like One Piece. Long story arcs with many side quests that take too long getting to the point and not moving the story forward. I don’t know if the author knows how the story is going to finish and is procrastinating coming up with a suitable conclusion so keeps writing side quests while he comes up with a suitable ending. We all know how well that worked out for Lost. Still, it is a nice, easy read that is a great escape when you don’t feel like reading something more complicated.
