maybe Shadow gd was alive during the time of the nightmare, and knowing his fate of death tried to pass his lineage on to sunny through the nightmare spell?
not necessarily better..
would he have the same flaw of not being able to lie tho
kind or ironic haha
I think most negative reviews here are predicated on the premise that you’re looking for a straightforward, even stereotypical and boring power fantasy. That isn’t the case here. There’s nothing wrong with wanting that type of story, but you shouldn’t go into this one with that sort of expectation. Expectations make or break an experience, and if you go into the novel with a different expectation of what it actually is, as I suspect to be the origin of most low star reviews, you’re not going to like it as much. As a story with more elements than the basic power fantasy, and with such expectations in mind, it really is a fun read. The premise is, at least to me, completely new and interesting. There are no logical missteps in the plot, nor are there unbelievable parts in story progression, be it basic mistakes by the enemy or illogical “main character moments” by Sunny. Everything follows the self-contained rules of the world, and both story and power progression just make sense. Grammar is good, and word choice isn’t ostentatious but clear. This is the type of book I’d expect on RR or Kindle, different from the usual vibe on WN. Love the book, always got me at the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapters. Worth a read if you want something more than senseless power leveling, and something with a even just a semblance of a good plot.
often better than a master of one
