assuming that Colin does believe this and doesn't learn the truth in the next chapter, the empress is the real mother, and it is a long term plan. It is a terrible plan doomed to fail. The reasons being that Both Vera's parents are alive and in much high status than the countess. Even if it is publicly revealed that the countess is the mother, all Garcia needs to do is say im her true father no she's not the mother, he doesn't even need to say who is the real mother, who are people gonna believe the greatest military commander of the Northern Territory maybe even the empire or a traitor countess who did nothing to stop an invading army that wanted to take over. Now assuming they do side with the countess now we have the empress saying as her aunt of course I would know who the mother is and it is not the countess, oh snap now who are they gonna believe: traitor countess or empress of the empire. I think I know who I would side with in that case. and I imagine mr.Ji can't reveal himself as the Duke cause as a holy knight himself prince Lexie would feel something is not right about him and would take action since mr.Ji still needs to recover and would still be far to weak to go against him. (at least thats how I understand it)

yeah, alcohol is gonna make you freeze faster it may make you feel warmer but thats because it thins the blood a tad and makes more blood go to your limbs which your body tries to stop so that it can retain more heat, if it goes to your limbs it loses more heat causing you to freeze faster so unless they have a fire that wine is killing them faster, but maybe thats what Colin wants
