But without the challenge the Dalki could have stalled and dragged this out forever, getting more powerful all the while. They need this to end now. If they would have taken the bait sooner, the vampires could have defeated them more easily. And keep in mind, if Graham had been at the Dalki home planet - everyone there would have died.

The order to keep him away seems dumb, whether it is Arthur or not, clearly whomever it was can easily come and go undetected already anyway. It also feels odd that Paul would have missed this fact and not brought it up.

If their actions are supposed to carry over, why is the outcome different? If they get a clean slate how are their early choices supposed to bottleneck them later on?
