Writing quality is great. I quite enjoy the first person perspective. It puts you right in the mind of the MC. The world is quite interesting. The antagonists and monsters seem quite generic... But of course that's fine. It fits the author's unique world quite well. One of My personal issue is with the characters. The extra characters can be quite stupid. I understand that humans can be sheep sometimes listening to narratives without proper verification . But this is an academy where the "awakened" are trained to fight monsters monsters that can end all of the humans. At the very least awareness is a trait they should have. They should be sensitive to information because it's important for hunting monsters and evil characters. But that's not the case here. They're mostly just stupid nobles. The school ignoring the bullying is reasonable to an extent. I mean... That happens a lot outside the academy. Those that deem themselves better often force those "lesser" . It's still annoying to read though. The lead characters are honestly quite fleshed out you can "see" their individual personalities. The best character is Maya. The MC is a super edge lord. Quite annoying if you'd ask me. I understand that one half of astron lived in darkness with his sister dying and village getting destroyed. But the other half should have a decent positive influence In his personality. There probably is, but i don't see it. I hate how weak the MC always is. it's as though there is no improvement in him at all... Everyone always seem to have better strength, stamina, speed. He's certainly improving . But it's annoying how he's still so weak. Why was his talent stagnant even after his soul came back? That Teacher that should meet the "chosen one" MC and guide him is the most useless character in the entire novel. Even the extras have better prospects. Atleast they play a part. She's done absolutely nothing important to the plot. Based on her shown actions, Her role can easily be replaced by anyone. Why is she so closed minded? She was clearly adviced by the seer to be compassionate. She's meant to ensure he finds the light. But instead she's become part of the problem. How disgusting. There are schemes and Politics at play... Certainly. But I hate seraphina with all of my being . How dare she cause the character with the best growth so far "Irina", pain? And that's all from me. Ah, well IMO, it mirrors human thoughts.You might not agree, but a great many people love to feel above others in so many ways.Ofcourse it's not as obvious because our current society deems it terrible(which it is).But, looking back, it was the core of the past societal norms for a reason.
