you're not understanding people well he's not completely human even normally but he's not a true monster he's cold logical and emotionless he can eventually feel emotion just from experience as shown from the original material but it will take a long while the difference is when he's consumed by blood loss she's completely inhuman it's not logical it's not emotionless it's just the desire to cause pain death

honestly Sunny throughout the novel is shown that if you truly are in his loyalty he will pay it back. it's hard to do but at least from what I remember he's very loyal it also helps that he can't really lie
