Morgana is the classic Merlin villan, so there will always ve people that want the story that way. For me, i like your approach so far. To me, she wont realy hate him for that, there had to be something bigger. Like she makes a bond with Maeve, when he leaves for school thenext time, and then he kills Maeve. But tell us your story, Maeve is a good villan.

True but, anyone under a restriction, spell or otherwise, will test the limits of that restriction to see what goes and what doesn't. Especially if he wants to tell the truth but can't. He would try to test what he can tell her that isn't a lie.

Don't get discouraged by such comments. Writhing 1000 words chapters dayly of original content, can't be easy on you. In quiet a few novels the MC uses Alchemy or his Apothecary knowledge to get an edge in Advancing over his peers. If he should become the Merlin, then he needs to be an expert Alchemist, but that is all up to you. Just wanna say, I love the novel so far, it should be more popular than it is. Have you given your early chapeters to proofread again, i remember many mistakes back then, which could discourage new readers. Might be worth the work.
