Jamie_Walker_77632yrCommentedI am trying really hard to like this book but it’s not easy. I like the idea of the story and really want to like it as an avid reader but, it’s not written very well. The more I read, the harder it is for me to convince myself to continue to see how it turns out. There is way too much that doesn’t sound natural and also phrases that are repeated too many tImes.

This is what you get for not actually caring and agreeing to that idiots terms.

Whatever the case, Roberto finally had his blackmail material. For safety purposes, he should probably tell that Abramson guy who was looking for information on Billy Thornton about his illegal activities. - Jamie_Walker_77632yrCommentedDid he even have the right to disrupt her life any further? Whether or not her husband was Billy Thornton, he hadn't done anything to hurt her as far as he could tell. She was happy with him. Could he really take the only family she had left away from her in good conscience even if he was dangerous?

You finally get it.
You would have to be a complete idiot not to see how much those two loved each other. The improbable thought briefly crossed his mind that perhaps Billy Thornton hadn't wanted to kill Hazel at all and would have said anything to get his father to leave her alone. - Jamie_Walker_77632yrCommented
Because he was a 7 year old kid and it was the only way to convince his psycho father not to kill her.
A few things about this seemed to fit together but there was the most glaringly obvious hole in his wild speculations. Charles Thornton was absolutely convinced his son had wanted to kill Hazel. So why on earth would he marry her instead? - Jamie_Walker_77632yrCommented
