I think the author forgot that Hazel and Lucian can sense themselves and hear their thoughts. So the idea shebis not calling him or he is not calling her does not make any sense.
Lucian wasn't sure about the plan but he didn't care much. Once he got inside the castle he would enjoy torturing Pierre before giving him a slow and painful death, even if it meant that the plan would fail. He didn't need people to accept him nor welcome him as their king. Once he got his revenge he had no intention to become king. Meanwhile, he would follow Julian's plan and find out more about being a witch. - Surey_Morales3yrCommented
this whole section is weird. Julian just came in and called him His Highness. Lucian doesn't question that, but seems to think Julian does not know him, but then Julian tells him to wait for his revenge against Pierre, his brother. So Julian do know, but Lucian is not surprised? I think there is some poor writing here.

October tucked her hair behind her ear as she listened to her friend's continuous prattling. Nice that the author made John character a very fair man. He didn't ask Lucian to work, Lucian offered in grattitude. And since he is there and helping him make money, he offered him a salary. He is tending Lucian and in no way trying to take advantage of Lucian. Great admirable character.

honestly, I appreciate the author not putting us through the torture of having her beaten or raped by him. but both are more plauisble and realistic. she would have been beaten and raped multiple times by now and begging for her death. i imagined myself been her when Lucian was dying in her arms, asking him to take her with him in death. Whether that mean using his claws or whatever. Staying behind, if the authorbwasn't so nice to spare us, would have been real torture and rape. 😭 Would have been unbearable. I recommend, or not, to watch Berserk. Look it up and you'll see.

Val is not so cautivating either if you ask me. is the type of female lead that for me does not represent strength nor dignity. she is whiny, vengative, childish in not a cute way, plain ridiculous. for me Jason, can hav better than Valentina or Rose. hope a real woman shows up in the story.

Groaning in pain her eyes landed on a pair of black boots then her gaze traveled up long powerful legs encased in a pair of black pants. Skimming over powerful arms and broad shoulders covered by a black silk shirt her gaze landed on a pair of beautiful Hazel eyes.
