Nah its pretty unillogical to dismiss Aokiji for that. sooner or later the 3 other villages will still massacre the Uzumaki because of their Adamantine Chains, Massive chakra and other aspect(Controlling the Bijuu). Aokiji killing the Uzumaki is a common thing since Uzumaki are allied with Konoha and Both Konoha and Mist are war enemies. While its more logical if Gengetsu will order Aokiji to take a long mission in where he can find himself and take a break from the toll of war.

While the next most qualified Hokage is either from the the Uchiha or Senju mostly Kazuma but then again Kazuma is still improsined on Mist so its either Aokiji will let Kazuma be free/exchange to Konoha with more payment as a colateral and war payment.
