Well as she doesn't start getting infatuated with the duke...

And among these people who were admiring and zealously looking at the princes' direction, Song Lin couldn't take her eyes off of Yu Fangzhu and felt feathers tickling her as she watched the man of her life.

    Well,he had it coming

The woman on the bed was originally lying on her side with her back toward Ke Song. And when he walked closer to her, Ke Song was unable to see that the woman was completely awake and thus, he didn't expect her to pull out a buyao (hair ornament) and viciously stab it to his left eye.

I'm sure she'll come to love him in time.

Lin Xiaofei stood on her place and looked at the wide back of Lin Xiaomeng and the smile on her face was wiped off as if it never existed in the first place.

    As if...

If the list was indeed some outstanding noble sons, Lin Xiaofei's marriage wouldn't be too tacky. Although, it pales in comparison with the Chu Family, the list wouldn't be too bad, right?

Involving her still very much alive parents in this was not wise but I get it. Maybe she'll tell Hui'er the truth one day once they have formed a stronger bond.

"Because… my mother had wealthy relatives away from this city. My father didn't want to care for one extra child, so he decided to leave me with my mother while taking your Fourth Miss with him. My mother didn't want me to end up in the same state she was in, so she sent me to those relatives, where I learned my artistic skills."

Just tell her. You need an ally and a guide to survive in this time and Hui'er could be exactly that.

With an icy tone, Hui'er lifted her chin up, replying, "If you were the Fourth Miss, then you would know about the Xiang Empire and the situation of the Yang family. You wouldn't trust Yang Xiaoyi so simply. You would know that your marriage into the Yu household was hopeless, and that you had a mother waiting for you outside of the villa. You would not know how to draw. You would not dare to run after thieves."

I knew she would figure it out soon. Hui'er is indeed a clever girl. I hope nothing bad will happen to her.

"You are not the Fourth Miss. Who are you?"

    🤣🤣🤣

Seeing Hui'er's hesitation and interpreting it the wrong way, Yujia began to pull out her years of learned bargaining skills. "Ten is an awful lot. Can I have the commission for five?"

Well...some people only learn through expierence

She was not particularly concerned because she doubted that there were many thieves who would dare to steal from her in broad daylight. Besides, most of her concern was finding a vendor who offered custom wood carving, so all her attention was on that.

Girl, just take her with you. Problem solved.

Sighing deeply, Yujia pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear and frowned even more. She originally thought that the heavens were blessing her with an opportunity to leave all her struggles behind, but now thinking about it, Guilin seemed more like a constant reminder of what she could not have.

    Well, I don't know...your mother perhaps?

Who in the world was Madam Liu? What relationship did the previous Fourth Miss even have with this random woman? All Yujia cared about was to end her future marriage with some disturbing old man… she did not have time to be caring about her others when her own future happiness was on the line!

I don't think it's going to be that easy. 🤣🤣🤣

Life in Guilin would be wonderful, all rivers and lakes and quietly illustrating the natural beauty of the terrain… and, oh, Guilin was known for osmanthus flowers as well! Those were always her favorite flowers. Yujia imagined her future, rowing boats along the rivers and sleeping within the shade of the mountain, smelling the sweet fragrance of osmanthus while slowly living her life.

And here I thought this was a cultured gentleman who knew what he was talking about...

He was one of those overly wealthy young masters that didn't understand any true perspectives and instead believed that the more money one spent on an item, the better it must've been. Therefore, when he heard that there was a painting in the market sold for fifty taels, regardless of what others told him, he thought that there must've been a reason for why it costed so much, secretly thinking that the person who painted this must be a legendary artist living in recluse until now.

Well, then we haven't read the same novels. The FLs lives are usually a nightmare at the beginning. So, patience...

Perhaps it was because of the fact that learning about her engagement with some old man was already too shocking, this new piece of information she gathered turned out less surprising. She already accepted the fact that her transmigration process as of the moment definitely wasn't the most ideal, novel-worthy story.

Well, if you're extremely lucky and belong to the sort of female protagonists whose parents picked the right husband for them, maybe. But even then there are usually lots of stones thrown in the way until they reach their happily ever after.

"What?" Yujia blinked. So, she was betrothed to someone, like most female protagonists. Well then, what was there for Xiaoyi to claim that she was "sorry" for? Wasn't that a good thing? She was about to be married to some handsome, wealthy suitor, and they would grow old and have adorable children together, fulfilling her dreams of a happy, peaceful life…

Nah, I don't think being betrothed to someone who has twenty other women all fighting to gain his attention is a good thing.

Now that she officially considered herself a transmigrator— proven that this entire thing wasn't just her going insane and trapping herself in a make-believe world— Yujia needed to figure out a plan. Surely, she didn't just transmigrate in this world without any cheats to support her. Was the past owner of this body a beloved character? Or betrothed to some other wealthy, young, and handsome young master? Or even better, betrothed to a prince or a king or… the emperor?

Wow, slow down a bit and maybe start by getting to know him better. He could be a serial killer for all you know.

"Since you have promised me, you must keep your word." Feng Ruqing winked and grinned. "Or else, I will not just strip you but also sleep with you."

😳 Oh Gosh. Earth, swallow me whole! 🙈 Where is your modesty, princess?

Feng Ruqing subconsciously rubbed her nose. "I see, then can you ask someone to inform me when you wish to have a swim or bath in the lake next time? Don't worry, I will secretly peek at you without causing any disturbance."
