As someone who also weathered thorugh 1000+ Chapters of this book so far, I'd have to agree. The book certainly has many flaws -such being nonsensical competitions between the MC and other people. This kind of face-slapping wasn't really contributing much to the story. And yes, it is kind of hard to follow the state of mind of the MC. Sometimes, he's completely indifferent about others dying or not. But then, he also cares a lot about whether they live or not. His actions often contradict each other. Besides that, the story is very well developed. I'm speaking about the world background. Each cultivation levels are thoroughy explained. Through the face-slapping, we also learn alot about the nature of the world he is living in. Although that face-slapping is slightly, slightly... repetitive, it mostly is interesting, for my taste. also, people seem to have misunderstood the book at its core. It was never about the pet store in and of itself - it was more about what the store offered to the MC, to make him grow and turn him into one of the strongest beings in the universe.
"I am a superstar" is extremely racist to koreans / japanese, and pretty much repetitive. Also the "enemies" are braindead, and the MC is a hopeless pervert who abuses the systems power. The novel is really good at first but then you start to notice the aforementioned things. I dropped it when the MC and the crowd just started to beat a korean guy up whose bodyguards pushed people out of his way. Well, that was not the only racist thing in the novel, so just be warned. Also kinda confused me how MC claims to be an ultra-nationalist and doesn't want a english name still shamelessly plagiarizes english novels / tales / movies and so on.
Fairly average novel, actually, if you look at it objectively. World Background is unclear, Cultivation Planes are not explained, as are the different monster species. The story development is very fast, and the MC does get very strong early on, though he starts (almost) from the bottom. Character design is interesting, at least for the characters who talked/interacted with the MC. The MC himself is fairly smart, though tendencies being to sociopathic. The women/girls are being reasonable, e.g. with the "lucky happy little accidents", as I call them. All actions so for taken from characters are reasonable and fairly realistic. The writing quality - this is the unique part. - it is fast paced - writer doesn't explain much - writer focuses more on explaining important / relevant stuff - You get the feeling of everything being lackluster - the tone at which the novel is written is like that, it doesn't manage to convey the feelings of the characters But it's because of these things, that I think the novel is unique. As a reader, you are often fed with information. But now, you'll have to think: Why? Why does the MC behave like that? Why does he seemingly not care about other people's lifes, e.g. when they are trapped underground? Whilst not a good read in itself, I think you could learn a little bit. Atleast, it's better than those revenge-driven wuxia-novels.
so it's actually a 6! page book

i almost spat out laughing jesus 💀
Started good at first. I liked the humour. It was funny. However, after around 200 chapters you could notice it was getting repetitive. MC makes poem, offends someone, they have a little fight, MC gets banned or something, finds a new job -Something like that. Not to mention, MC is perverted - yes, ok, that's not a problem, but it's to the point where you start to see some resemblance to him being a rapist. Another thing, which made me drop this novel is just the pointless racism against koreans. Yeah, ok, it's still somewhat bearable to read that they are always the villains and such but the MC goes out of his bounds to curse them / beat them up, even if he isn't even the victim of the attacks. MC just constantly repeats him being "ultra-nationalistic" but its more like "ultra-racist". And lastly... as a professional gambler... hur hur.. I hate how he does the lottery. Always all-in, there's no fun in that. Speaking of which, every reward he has, always is convenient. E.g. gets calligraphy skill books? Well, what a coincidence, the next chapter there's a calligraphy competition. Just dumb.
