Incredible. Best military scifi I have ever read. If you like mecha, strategy, or even just scifi, this is the best book on the site/app. Wish I could own a physical copy in hardcover.

    oh dear.

Nico laughed. "I like that. Let's start spreading a rumour that the whole matter started because some filthy neck beard of a God got turned down by the lovely human goddess, and the whole situation is just an eternal case of incel rage. If nothing else, it should keep the people entertained."

I cant tell if the author is actually this old, or if he's just this talented

That settled it, he was getting nostalgic, the first sign that he really did need a drink.

With so many people to respond to, Max wasn't the least bit apologetic when he finally woke everyone up close to noon the next day. It wasn't easy to get them moving, and one of the Reaver Commanders, who had voiced her disdain for the idea of a late night massage, sent away not one or two but three young men from the host club after Max's call.

"Oh, that could be fun, a mini me running around doing the real me's errands." Someone laughed, while the other council members considered the advantages of having someone with their own personality around. They didn't all become powerful because they were the most personable people in the world.

this is the best conversation in the book so far

"System help us with this one. Do you not have any maternal instinct at all? Were you just planning to carry an incubation chamber in your Mecha into combat while you waited for the child to hatch?" Mary asked.

    jelly?

"You lay eggs? You're telling me that the joys of pregnancy seemed like too much trouble, so you modified your body to lay eggs?" Mary asked.

Just being able to watch the others at work reminded everyone of the normal situation, and the talk of strict warnings for sluffing off and skipping work were spreading rapidly through the ship. Everyone knew the standard Reaver procedures for the ones who refused to work. They would have their wages cut, then they would be dismissed and transferred to a punitive detail, and finally, if they simply could not function in society, they would be moved to a planetary treatment centre for their mental health.

this right here is one of those little details, that make this book so special. this is incredibly top tier writing. I truly hope this is one day published as a hardcover series.

"Good work. Allocate yourself an additional two percent of the computing capacity for the day to use as you please. You've earned the rest." Max replied.

Maybe she could upgrade it as well. Some built in lasers would be cool, but possibly impractical in the body of a toddler. It was such a pain to have the child's mind start at such a low level that she couldn't even weaponize it. Perhaps there was a way to put in an evolutionary trigger for genetic weapons.

Now that she had started working on it, the idea was growing on her. What exactly would a child raised by Nico Tarith from the day it hatched be like? Most likely, it would turn out to be a complete mess.

bro that would work on literally anyone xD

Not even the Myceloid God could argue with logic like that. Slapping someone until they agreed to have a proper fight was a favourite tactic for it as well.

thats just the respawners from unreal tournament xD

Morally, it was questionable. Legally, it was problematic, emotionally, it was either a necromantic curse or the greatest gift that anyone could give the Reavers. A chance at immortality, revived from their last backup point if they were killed. Sure, it wasn't really the same person, but in a way, it was, and their experience wouldn't be lost with their death.

Giving a random relic world ship to the Innu and then just letting them wander around looking for fun things to do might be hilarious when the rest of the Alliance found out, but he needed to explore and analyze it first.

[That's a new kind of house. I've never seen one like that before. Did the strangeness bring a whole house here? It must be full of crabs. Yes, that's it, the crab is bringing me to meet its people.] The cat decided.
