I think he's that way because he doesn't want what happened to his wife to happen to his daughters . It was mentioned that the mom was a swords woman, so he might think his daughters are safer inside the home, taking care of the house and children

Is the story going to progress so slow ?Because I feel it has a nice plot, but it needs to be balanced with action rather than repeating her thoughts and feelings over and over again but using different words. Sorry for the harsh criticism. I like this story, truly I do! I only think it has space for more improvements.

It's not like aria has any merciful end planned for Mielle

Umm...both 'sisters' are horrible, except Aria is the protagonist with a miserable past and Mielle is a spoiled child without a mother, showcased as an evil villian. I kind of side with mielle, because in my point of view, if a father married a prostitute with a daughter of unknown origin, I would hate them, too. Not to the point of murdering them, but I wouldn't feel uncomfortable around them or the father. Don't forget they live in a time where power, status and reputation are important. So, imagine entering society with someone worse than a commoner as your 'mother' and 'sister'.

Words can't even begin to describe how perfectly written and beautifully detailed it is. It inspired me to write my own stories and I always keep coming back to it and using it as a model to improve my writing.

She's becoming more evil, using people like chess pieces, yet she doesn't see herself in the wrong. Still, she blames others when they try to use her
